Date sent: Fri, 10 Jan 1997 19:18:37 -0500 I am a recent graduate in the field of music education with a vocal specialty. I was diagnosed with TMJ in 1993 and due to poor medical advise and treatment, I am still under treatment (with better doctors thankfully). I see TMJ references made to instrumentalists on a regular basis. However, I rarely see information regarding classical singing and TMJ. One of the best articles I have ever read was in the NATS Journal (National Association of Teachers of Singing). Although I am sure there are other excellent articles available. Please let it be known, singers are at a great risk as well. I have been unable to sing at all for almost a year now. It's tough, but I'd rather be treated now and sing again, then become so bad that I'll be in pain for the rest of my life! Best of luck to you.
